Mexico City, Mexico, September 22, 2022 – Manchester City’s international charity initiative, Cityzens Giving, and Official Water Technology Partner, Xylem, are delighted to announce the expansion of Xylem Water Heroes Academy, a worldwide initiative in ten cities using the power of soccer to sort out local water challenges.
Since its launch in 2021, Xylem Water Heroes Academy has engaged over 75 younger leaders and delivered very important water training to greater than 6,000 younger folks in five cities: São Paulo, Mumbai, Cape Town, New York City and Shanghai. The expanded network, which now also contains youth-led tasks in Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Cape Coast, Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne, goals to positively influence 20,000 more young individuals over the next four years.

Valeria, a Young Leader with love.fútbol said: “We need all the kids here to bear in mind that accountable water consumption is very important, they usually should take care of it. We received coaching from Man City coaches and learnt several video games that educate youngsters about water conservation through soccer. We are really joyful and thankful that Man City and Pablo Zabaleta visited our neighborhood.”
Later this season, City fans could have an opportunity to be taught more concerning the 5 new Water Heroes Academy tasks and vote for his or her favorite younger water heroes.
